"The Beginning of Life" Documentary
The Beginning of Life (O Começo da Vida) emotionally brings to life the science behind the importance of loving relationships in a child's early years. Interviews with experts are interspersed with footage of parents and children from nine countries across four continents. Released initially in 2016 on Netflix, the documentary has been made available on YouTube as a series of short clips in multiple languages. Topics include why a good foundation matters, the importance of interactions, neglect, toxic stress, understanding babies' changing brains, the importance of fathers and other caregivers, as well as the power of playing, singing, reading and talking to children.
