This video, from Ghana, demonstrates a provider using warm interpersonal communication during a routine visit to the clinic by a mother and her 8 month old daughter. Using a five step process, she helps the mother realize that her child is able to understand, teaches the mother how to communicate with her child with words and gestures, and helps the mother reflect on different ways her child has tried to communicate with her.
