Counseling Caregivers at a Clinic Visit - a 3-Step Approach - Ghana
This video, from Ghana, demonstrates a provider using warm interpersonal communication during a routine visit to the clinic by a mother and her 8 month old daughter. In 3 steps, the provider is able to establish trust, elicit information, praise the caregivers efforts, and recommend actions the caregiver can apply at home to improve her interactions with her daughter. In this case, the provider notices that the caregiver does not make eye contact or communicate with her daughter.
