This was the first in a series of three webinars from UNICEF and The RISE Institute entitled "From Fragmented Fields to a Unity of Efforts for Early Childhood Development: The SDGs and Multisectoral ECD Monitoring and Evaluation Systems".

This first webinar included an overall introduction to the webinar series, and looked at defining data needs for early childhood development (ECD) and matching such needs with available data sources, measures and systems. The uses, differences, strengths and limitations of different data types such as population-level data, national child tracking data, and individual-child level data were also be explored.

The main goal of this joint webinar series was to inform and support data specialists and ECD leaders to identify their needs and build capacity to plan the development of national multisectoral ECD monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and policy and programme planning systems that consider and use SDG, regional and national indicators.
