The World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) joined with partners to launch a new report: "How the marketing of formula milk influences our decisions on infant feeding". A record of the event is available here.

This was the largest report of its kind to date - drawing on the experiences of over 8,500 women and 300 health professionals across eight countries (Bangladesh, China, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Viet Nam). The report exposed the aggressive marketing practices used by the formula milk industry, highlights the impacts on women and families, and outlined opportunities for action.

In 2023, a series of three articles in The Lancet brought this research to a much wider audience. Click here for information on the launch of this issue.
