This Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regional event presented highlights from the World Bank’s new report: "Better jobs and brighter futures: Investing in childcare to build human capital". It reviewed the childcare context in MENA, and engaged policymakers across the region on challenges, opportunities and promising approaches.
The report highlighted the transformative potential of investments in childcare to increase women’s employment and productivity, create new jobs, improve child outcomes, drive economic growth and support a more resilient and inclusive recovery from the pandemic.
It also provided an overview of the status of childcare globally and five recommendations for policy goals.
