Child and adolescent health in humanitarian settings: operational guide. A holistic approach for programme managers.
Published by the WHO Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean, this operational guide is a step-by-step, action-oriented programmatic tool that complements existing resources and provides a clear approach to child and adolescent health in emergencies. The guide can be used to support operational planning, upscale staff capacity, and advocate for prioritizing child and adolescent services in contexts where many priorities compete for policy-makers’ attention. It targets programme managers of Ministries of Health and related sectors, UN country partners, implementing NGOs and all actors in the humanitarian settings in EMR. We believe that this guide will help making children visible during emergencies from birth through adolescence.

The guide was developed by the Child and Adolescent Health unit, Department of Healthier Populations, in collaboration with relevant units in WHE Department and in close coordination with Member States in emergencies, UN agencies, international NGOs, global and regional experts.
