Description

This online webinar was built on a joint initiative in 2021 between the Harvard Center on the Developing Child (HCDC) and the ECD regional networks — Africa Early Childhood Network (AfECN), Arab Network for Early Childhood Development (ANECD), Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC), and the International Step by Step Association (ISSA) — to strengthen the ability of ECD champions around the world to understand, communicate, and apply the science of child development to improve policies and programs for young children and their families.

The session focused on insights from the science of adversity and resilience that helps families, communities, and public systems support healthy development for young children. It also featured representatives from the regional networks who participated last year, sharing their experiences with using the science of child development to advance key ECD policy and program initiatives at the country level – where it has been helpful and where there have been challenges. These cases offer practical insights and learnings to others who are trying to move ECD issues in their own contexts.
