In February 2019 the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office – Children’s Unit convened a meeting to develop a multi-sectoral early childhood care and development framework for the Kingdom of Eswatini, aligned to the Nurturing Care Framework.

The U.A.E. Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Dubai Cares, and the Emirates Red Crescent convened a meeting aimed at providing a quality early childhood development package for humanitarian and fragile settings.

This event sought to revitalize national ECD dialogue and introduce the Nurturing Care Framework for national buy in and uptake.

Professor Jane Fisher spoke on the topic: “Society, women’s health, family wellbeing and early childhood – they are all connected”, drawing on the Nurturing Care Framework to make the case that nurturing care is central to achieving all three.

Public health workers, pediatricians, home visitors, social workers and representatives of the education sector, along with UNICEF, WHO, and decision makers from the Ministry of Health and City Authority, meet to discuss a comprehensive approach to child health and development.
