As part of the Early Childhood Workforce Initiative, the International Step by Step Association (ISSA) and Results for Development (R4D) describe a needs assessment tool that has been developed and piloted in Kenya and Serbia. The tool focuses particularly on personnel supporting home visiting programs delivered across sectors for pregnant mothers and caregivers with children under 3 (18 October 2019).

The theme for the ISSOP 2019 Annual Meeting was "Children in Armed Conflict: Rights, Health and Wellbeing".

This two-day conference explored multi-sectoral approaches to promoting holistic ECD, from conception to age 8, in Pakistan.

The Partnership for Maternal Newborn & Child Health held its annual accountability breakfast on the side of UN General Assembly. This year's theme was "Leaving no woman, child or adolescent behind on the road to UHC".

Over 100 participants implementing initiatives for families and/or newborns in 20 countries were introduced to the Nurturing Care Framework. During the session and throughout the 3-day event, they reflected on how to go about their work differently so they could promote nurturing care, work in partnership, and strengthen systems.

In a follow-up to the launch of the Nurturing Care Framework in 2018, the WHO, UNICEF, and the World Bank Group, with support from PMNCH and ECDAN, convened a meeting called: “Innovating for early childhood development: What we have learnt to strengthen programming for nurturing care”.

The first national capacity building workshop on Care for Child Development was organized by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with WHO, UNICEF, USAID, PATH and African ECD Network.

This event was organized to officialise the ECD National Taskforce and finalise TORs, along with developing a roadmap for an ECD plan of action.

This conference will focus on play for children most at risk, with presentations exploring play practice for children who are differently-abled, who have experienced trauma and who are living in poverty.
